As the eldest son of Sir Myric and Lady Allana, Augustus was to be the heir and groomed to be so, with his siblings below him he loved the attention and so Under the super vision of his parents and Tutors Augustus learned how what it took to run a keep well, and went to school to learn his numbers and letters so that when the accountants along with his parents showed him the ledgers he understood to a degree how the finances were run.
Most of all he loved to go into his fathers library and read all the books, the ones that really inspired him were those on ancient history and of battles. He also had to be schooled on the various houses and proper etiquette. Also he was schooled at the temple so learned about the four and the one. This went on from the age of eight or so until his fourteenth birthday when he was squired to the then current Commander of the Ironclad.
Commander Elisha Auldholme was one of his Uncles and a very skilled tactician, and so from the ages of Fourteen when he was first squired with his Uncle until his twenty-first birthday he learned much from the man. While not a Calvary man Augustus and Elisha focused on the basics of swordsmanship and the various other weapons so that Augustus would have the basic understanding on how to employ them and defend against them.
It was on his Twenty Second birthday that he was given a command of his own within the Ironclad and learned first hand battle tactics and how to direct his troops, his skill and devotion to his men earned him there loyalty and later love, as he was such a skilled tactician that he was able to use half his own forces to wipe out invaders twice his size. Thru division and Guerrilla tactics, and ambush's. The other thing his men loved of him was that he never left a man behind.
Upon his Twenty fifth birthday, he was informed of his upcoming wedding to Elizabeth Westmark, one of the cousins of that noble family. Elizabeth was a beauty with brownish hair, green eyes and a charming smile. Augustus was Immediately smitten with here and they hit it off in a grand style, After three years of trying to produce a child the four granted them their wish as Elizabeth was blessed with a child, and so their time was happy. Around the Seventh month of Elizabeth's pregnancy while Augustus was out on a boarder skirmish, he received news that there was trouble at home, yet as much as he wished to go back and see his beloved wife he had a duty to protect the boarders and so with reluctance he stayed cleared out the bandits and rushed home nearly killing three horses on the way back in his haste.
Upon returning home he discovers that there were complications and his beloved Elizabeth had a premature delivery which cost her and their child's lives. There was a period of mourning for the loss of his beloved Elizabeth and their son. One year latter his uncle stepped down as the commander of the Ironclad and bestowed that title upon his nephew Augustus, there was a day of celebration and joy, though Augustus felt little of it, as even a year later he mourned his wife. So for the next three years Augusts Auldholme was the Commander of the Ironclad and kept the borders clear of all threats
